Is it too early to start thinking about spring yet? Even though it was bitterly cold I really wanted to wear this colourful check trench coat. They are a spring staple, the ideal outer layer for the coming season. And they never go out of fashion, so buying one will be a wise investment.

With so many colours in this check print, there are many styling possibilities. Teaming it with darker hues, such as the rust, teal and magenta may be preferable in autumn and winter. On the other hand, picking out the lighter shades of pink, coral and pale blue will work well in spring and summer. I’ve gone for neon hues of pink and yellow for a vibrant colour pop.

I’m wearing a size small and it’s plenty big enough. I prefer trench coats to be on the roomy side so that I can wear a chunky jumper underneath if it’s cold. The quality of the material and finish is great, with a shoulder or “storm flap” and matching fabric belt. I’m planning on styling this colourful check trench coat so many different ways. I’m sure I’ll be wearing it lots over the coming months!
