bHappy Monday! I hope you had a lovely weekend. It’s the last Monday of the month…finally. January really does drag, doesn’t it? It feels more like two months since Christmas. Jacqui chose the theme of Red Alert! for January’s Style Not Age theme. Red is never not on trend (well, in my opinion anyway!) but it was one of the key trends for autumn/winter and is still going strong into spring.
The black vest helps to create an elongating effect and breaks up the block of red
Nothing in this outfit is new except the bag, which I bought a few months ago on the Jayley website. I’ve worn the top and trousers before for the Style Not Age Iris Apfel theme a couple of years ago. They’re a near perfect shade match (probably because they are both River Island) so make a useful outfit option when I’m in a hurry. The black vest helps to create an elongating effect and breaks up the block of red. I like to add a big necklace for the same reason and to add in that “third colour”, in this case gold. The hat balances out the proportions, and on this occasion kept the drizzly rain off my hair.

Let’s see how my stylish friends approached this Red Alert! theme…

Jacqui has a borrowed a jumpsuit from her daughter. It’s from Warehouse and has a feather effect across the top. She has teamed it with an oversized blazer, red shoes and red bag. Head over to Mummabstylish to find out more.

Anna’s fabulous co-ord is an old one from Zara. Her boots are from Vinted and sunglasses are old. Anna told us that red isn’t one of her best colours but I would have to politely disagree…I think she looks fabulous! Head over to Anna’s Island Style to read more.

Hilda has combined some classic trousers from a suit at Selected Femme with a Primark cardigan and Dune shoes. Find all the details at Over the Hilda.

Gail has chosen a red skirt and apple mint shirt from Kettlewell, which she’s teamed with a pre-loved red Coast coat. Visit Is This Mutton? to catch up with Gail and read more about her outfit.
