Fumbalinas Orange Print Kaftan + Style With a Smile Link Up

Happy International Women’s Day! I’m a day late with this post, watching the snow falling and wishing I was back in Agadir. I often think I was born to live somewhere warm, wafting around in a kaftan (retirement goals!). I drove to my mum’s yesterday with an aching back and knees, and collapsed on the sofa and went to sleep. I’m partly blaming the cold weather (another reason to move to a warm climate) and the fact I did a particularly energetic workout in the morning. Me and burpees will never be friends. Fact. Anyway, we have a few days of snow/sleet/rain in store before milder weather returns. At least I have a week in Madeira to look forward to in April. It may not be hot, but it will be warm, and that’s good enough for me!

I’d been wanting to wear this Fumbalinas orange print kaftan for months and Morocco seemed like a fitting location. It drew quite a few looks as people were strolling along the promenade. Not that I let it bother me! It was early evening on our last day, I’d been by the pool all day and my hair was a mess so I plonked my hat on. In hindsight, a headband would have worked better, but the only one I took was in a totally different colourway. When I saw this orange print kaftan on the Fumbalinas website, Jodie (the owner) was wearing it with the most fabulous orange headdress. I seriously contemplated buying that too but had to be realistic about when I’d ever get to wear it. (If you’re curious you can see it here.)

I love owning really unusual items of clothing that I will treasure for many years to come
