As we move towards winter (boo) I’m drawn towards rich tones of brown, burgundy and cinnamon, as well as deep jewel tones. Amethyst is bright enough to satisfy my colour cravings while also reflecting the season. Bizarrely, it is remarkably mild for October so I don’t need a coat. The faux fur will have to wait a while longer!

Nothing is new in this outfit, but I like to share what I wear to work, in addition to some of my more flamboyant looks! I like to have certain outfit formulas for work, which make getting ready in the morning quicker and easier. Having trainers, bags and shirts in different colours means I can build an outfit in minutes. This purple suit and bow blouse is a quick and easy combination which looks put together. I could pick out any of the colours in the print of the shirt to match accessories to. My gold trainers go with everything though, so I wear them a lot.
When I bought this jacket and trousers I thought they were a suit, but on closer inspection, they are in fact slightly different shades. But close enough to pass for a suit. I bought them in Zara in Madeira, where prices are lower than in the UK. It was also available in a deep forest green and I wish I’d bought that too, but I had limited space in my case. We’re going back at the end of the month so I’ll be checking out what’s in store then – as well as my favourite shop in Funchal, Dona Hortensia – where I never leave empty handed!
