Orange Kimono Robe + Style With a Smile Link Up

Back in the summer I featured a beautiful set of silky pyjamas from IDENTITY LINGERIE, which are simply the best PJs ever. As you can imagine, I was delighted to receive this stunning orange kimono robe with the most amazing sleeves! (You can see an unboxing reel on Instagram.) Although it was cold, I wanted to style it as outerwear because it’s so gorgeous and vibrant! Keeping it for indoors would be a shame. I always think that bright colours really pop against the snow too.

A simple column of black was the obvious choice for a base layer. Underneath, I’m wearing faux leather leggings and a sheer sleeve top. Dark brown would be a good substitute for black to wear with this orange kimono robe. Surprisingly, I don’t have a lot of chocolate brown in my wardrobe, which is a shame because it’s very popular this season. Playing on the boho vibe, I added a matching orange fedora, but I omitted a bag because I didn’t want to obscure the sleeves. This kimono robe is available is several other colours, including hot pink, which is fabulous.

Ethically handcrafted lingerie

IDENTITY LINGERIE was founded by Igor and Diana, who are Ukrainian. (You can read more about the company here.) All of IDENTITY LINGERIE’s garments are ethically handcrafted and undergo a thorough three-point quality check. The team donate old stock fabric and leftovers to Ukrainian charities. These are made into linens and undergarments for use in hospitals and military camouflage nets.

A former model, Diana experienced the pressure that the modelling puts on women to look a certain way. This motivated her to create an inclusive brand that promotes self-love and unconditional confidence. Each order comes with self-affirming, motivational tags, postcards and stickers. I love the messages on the garment labels too, they always make me smile 🙂

I feel very passionately about supporting small Ukrainian brands and I am still learning the language on Duolingo (my goodness it’s challenging!). Although it may not be much in the grand scheme of things, I want to show my support and solidarity in any way I can with Ukraine. Слава Україні!

Would you style lingerie as outerwear? Do you wear kimonos? I’d love to hear what you think!
