Do you remember the orange and purple check suit in last week’s post? Well, these are the trousers in a different colourway. The jacket was sold out, although it’s now come back in stock in some sizes (still in sale). As I have jackets in bright pink, green and lime, I already have several options for styling these trousers though.

After a little try on session with different jackets, I decided on this Pom Amsterdam bright pink blazer that I bought second hand. It matches the pink ribbed sweater almost perfectly. When the weather warms up a bit more I’ll switch it for a pink or green T-shirt. The trainers pick out the neon hues in the pink and green check trousers. They’re really old and I’d forgotten all about them until I started a mammoth clear out and reorganisation last week.
I wore this outfit on Sunday for a community event where Isobel had a fundraising stall. My mother in law had knitted loads of Easter chicks and rabbits with Cadbury Creme eggs inside. This was to raise money for the Polycystic Kidney Disease charity as part of Isobel’s role as the town’s Rose Queen (you can read more about it here). Granny’s efforts paid off because we took £58! We’re still a long way off our target of raising £1500 but every little helps as they say! I had been due to run the Manchester 10k for the charity last year but I tore my calf muscle a few weeks before so had to withdraw. As you can see, the running vest matches this outfit so I made good use of it!
You’ve probably noticed that the link up is a day late; the truth is, I’ve had a bit of a crap week for various reasons. Lots of uncertainty and unexpected problems cropping up left, right and centre left me feeling quite low. The midlife hormonal rollercoaster certainly isn’t helping. I only just found out that Evorel patches count as two prescription charges because the monthly packs contain two types! You can bet if men had to go through this they would be free. However, from this month you can buy a prepayment certificate for HRT that costs £19.30 (the cost of two prescriptions). It covers all eligible HRT prescriptions for 12 months, no matter how many different medicines you need. There’s no limit on the number of HRT prescription items you can get with it while it’s valid. It’s about time!
I forced myself to go for a run earlier and crack on with the unavoidable chores and admin. I’m off to Madeira soon so hopefully I’ll be able to relax and just live in the moment instead of worrying about everything. Just being somewhere warm by the sea always seems to do the trick 🙂
