Happy New Year! I hope you all had a fantastic time seeing in 2025. We went to a friend’s for the evening, although I went along later than planned as Henry (my cat) is poorly and I didn’t want to leave him alone for too long. Pets are such a worry when they’re not well, especially in their senior years. I’m taking him to the vet tomorrow, and keeping everything crossed that they can help him.
Well, the weather was awful for the New Year’s celebrations last night – so much so that a lot of events were cancelled. There’s been little opportunity for taking photos so I thought I’d take a look back at my favourite outfits of 2024 for this week’s link up post.
January

This was one of those outfits that I threw together at the last minute for The Thrifty Six Wearing Metallics post. As is often the way, it turned out to be one of my favourites. Adding the belt to the vintage jacket was an afterthought, but it brought it all together.
February

I’d previously worn this co-ord with turquoise accessories in the summer, but I love the contrast with black. Embellishing this mustard co-ord with a recycled rubber necklace and teaming it with black accessories “winterised” it, giving me another styling option.
March

This Style Not Age challenge of Ode to Queen Iris was not my first homage to the late Iris Apfel, but it is my favourite. This flamboyant concoction is centred around the suit from her collection for H&M, combined with a lookalike shaggy jacket from Forever Unique. (The real green jacket is super rare and very expensive on resale sites.)
April

It was tough to pick a favourite for April because there were several outfits I really liked. (I wear this burgundy suit a lot for work, and this mix of prints with a giant furry hat was a strong contender). However, this ensemble of pastel tones, floral print and smiley bag combined to make a really happy outfit.
May

This striped frilly shirt was one of my best Vinted bargains. It sold out on Wolf and Badger and I really regret not buying other pieces from the Moumi collection. But…I recently bought the matching trousers on Vinted and they’re totally bonkers and amazing! If I wear them together I’ll probably look like a clown, but who cares when clothes make you that happy!
June

Brightly coloured trouser suits feature heavily in my wardrobe; they’re an easy way to create a smart outfit without looking boring. I frequently wear this orange suit for work – it’s like a dose of vitamin C!
July

July wasn’t my strongest month for great outfits but this tropical print co-ord that I bought on holiday proved to be a fantastic addition to my wardrobe.
August

I took a gamble on buying this orange one shoulder maxi dress on Vinted just before my holiday. The seller’s photos didn’t really do it justice but I absolutely love how it hangs…and it’s ideal for a big meal out thanks to its belly-concealing style.
September

I was delighted to finally acquire the matching jeans to this top after looking for so long. This Miranda Makaroff x Desigual combination is fun and colourful, everything I love in an outfit. The red jumpsuit was a close runner up though.
October

An autumnal outfit of green mixed with neutral tones turned out much better that I anticipated, especially as it involves beige (not a shade you’ll see me wear often!).
November

These retro floral print flares are loud and groovy…but also incredibly comfortable. When I realised the long cardigan was an accidental pattern match I couldn’t believe my luck!
December

What a dilemma for December! I had to choose between this red ensemble, my rainbow faux fur coat and the burgundy suit with a lime pussy bow blouse. In the end I narrowed it down to the two furry coats…I couldn’t leave the festive red look out so it’s a twofer to end the year!
