Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you’ve had a lovely day, whether you celebrate it or not. We didn’t make any plans as we’re busy getting everything ready for Isobel’s ski trip on Friday. It has been a whirlwind few days since I drove back from mum’s on Friday afternoon. You may have seen on my Instagram that I spent Saturday in Birmingham at an event with the fabulous Lou Featherstone – aka Luinluland. I’ve met Lou before at the Soul Sisters launch in Cardiff in July 2021, but this was on another level!
There were several sessions throughout the day, starting with us all being given a £50 shopping voucher and 45 minutes to buy something. A load of us headed straight to Zara because that’s always a good bet, and I found a fabulous green blazer for £49.99 on the sale rail. (I’ll feature it here soon). After that we all dressed up in items from Lou’s amazing wardrobe (I opted for a metallic green kaftan from Fumbalina’s and some statement sunglasses) and had a little fashion show. Later on there was a silent disco when we all danced around the Bullring shopping centre…much to the amusement of onlookers! I’ll dedicate a separate post to the day when I’ve got the photos off my phone.
It’s impossible to pick a favourite, but this cartoon dog print shirt is probably the most fun
Anyway, onto to today’s outfit (which was actually photographed last week). You may remember my past posts featuring Grenouille shirts. I have a number of these gorgeous shirts, which are such great quality. It’s impossible to pick a favourite, but this cartoon dog print shirt is probably the most fun.
The shirt is a relaxed fit with a 3% elastane soft cotton fabric, so it’s really comfortable. The shirt has a relaxed fit, no darts, but very slightly shaped for a feminine look. I really love the anti-gape button design, which is especially beneficial if you have a fuller bust.

I previously wore this shirt with these Mint Velvet leggings and a faux fur gilet. I’d like to say I planned the red jacket for Valentine’s Day but actually it’s a fluke. (I’m really not very romantic!) I bought this Zara jacket when I was in Madeira, where prices are cheaper than in the UK. You can’t go wrong with a good quality blazer and Zara is always great value for money.
Buying good quality pieces is always a wise wardrobe investment
The jacket and necklace pick up on the red in the contrast fabric on the placket and cuffs. The dainty hearts and bones are so cute! I’m wearing my fabulous Vivaia boots which are incredibly comfortable. I haven’t used my Jennifer Hamley Mini KT bag for ages. It’s such a shame that Jennifer closed the business, but I’m glad I bought several bags while I had the chance. Buying good quality pieces is always a wise wardrobe investment.
