On my trip tp Madeira last month, I made my usual pilgrimage to my favourite shop, Dona Hortensia. I never leave there empty-handed because it’s full of fabulous, colourful clothes and accessories. The whole store layout is a feast for a maximalist’s eyes. As well as a couple of co-ords, I bought this oversized collar striped shirt. At first, I picked it up and put it back on the rail, undecided. But the red contrast on the collar and the beautiful soft fabric made it impossible to resist. I’m so glad I bought it now.
It’s a similar style to some La Veste shirts that have been popping up on my Vinted feed. The main difference is the price: this was about 30 euros, whereas the La Veste shirts are around £50 second hand (although I’ve just looked on their website and that seems like a bargain – they’re £200 new!). Anyway, I’m more that happy with my budget version shirt. It pairs beautifully with my Damson Madder reversible gilet too.
The lightwash barrel leg jeans create a pale blue column, which contrasts with the red. This is a really comfortable outfit, but still looks put together. I’d like to say that I did something interesting in it, but the most exciting thing I did was go food shopping at Lidl!
